Natural Projects

You’ve been working for 11 years, and have been in Singapore for the last five. Do you have any advice for people who have just started out in your industry?
Have fun. I think we take everything too seriously sometimes. So just be as creative and inspirational as you can.

We see you have a tattoo of an abstract pen.
I had it done in Bali. I designed with the tattoo artist; I didn’t really draw it but I altered it as he was working on it. I chose a pen because I’m a writer too; I write both for work and in my own time.

Are you working on anything right now?
I have unfinished novels on my hard drive just hanging out. (laughs) I usually write short stories, like fiction.

Do you read a lot as well?
Yeah, but I’m actually more inspired by movies than books. My all-time favourite is Pulp Fiction, because people take the time to just have random conversations; it’s not always done in service of the plot. I like those random moments where it’s not just about pushing the story forward.

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
Buy my parents a house, give a percentage to charity, and if I can still afford it after that, a sports car. I’d put money away for my kid’s college as well.
