My mom always told me:
Be authentic. I didn’t understand it when it was younger but now I do. I think authenticity is a virtue much forgotten in this day and age.
Something I’d tell my 16-year-old self:
Don’t cut your fringe into bangs!
I’m a bit of a health freak.
My idea of ‘relaxing’ involves some sort of exercise, whether it’s doing weights at the gym or HIIT or light yoga to stretch. I’ve also been meaning to complete this 12-week exercise programme but every time I reach week 8 or so, I get distracted by things like Chinese New Year and/or Christmas feasting, a multitude of birthday parties in a row, etc.
Plans for the year:
Oh gosh, I’ve got more goals than I’ve got time. I’ve been wanting to start a blog about DIY eco-friendly alternatives to skincare and beauty.
I collect:
Lipsticks. I have about 30, going on 40 lipsticks now—reds, corals, pinks, browns, I’ve got them all. I just really like lipsticks, although I’m not buying as much as I was before. I write for the beauty beat in my magazine so I get quite a bit of makeup sent to me.
Philosophy that I’m living by right now:
“Eat food, not too much, mostly plants.” — Michael Pollan. Not necessarily ‘eating clean’, but eating sustainably in a way that’s good for the planet and your body.
