We see you’re a Star Wars fan—who’s your favourite character?
It has to be Han Solo. He’s a rebel in his own right; he goes all out in doing what he believes in and he’s not bothered by others’ opinions of him.
Tell us something not many people know about you:
I’m actually quite an outdoorsy person; I used to skate at East Coast Park. I was just a beginner learning to ollie and kickflip, but the one trick that blew me away was a 1080 by Tom Schaar in 2012 when he was just 12 years old. It was hailed as the “holy grail of all skateboard tricks”.
If you could invite any three people to dinner, living or dead, who would you choose?
I’d like to invite Rei Kawakubo (the founder of Comme des Garçons), Walt Disney, and the artist Joan Miró.
What’s something you’d like to see in the future?
I’d like to see an inclusive society where people with special needs are granted greater access to education, healthcare, and employment.
What’s an important lesson you’ve learned from your work?
To know what you stand for—for me, that’s hard work, integrity, and determination. These values have allowed me to make informed decisions in challenging situations.
