Tell us where you’re from and what brought you to Singapore.
I’m from Japan, and I’ve been working in Singapore as a Stretch Trainer for the past two years. My contract just ended, so I’m headed back home to Japan.
How has your experience been living in Singapore as compared to Japan?
Life in Singapore is so different from Japan. I like that there’s so much greenery in the city, and I really enjoy laksa and bak kut teh too!
That said, rental is so expensive and I miss the cold weather (laughs), but I’d love to visit again for a holiday next time.
How are you spending your last day here?
I just grabbed myself a cup of coffee and am planning to do a bit of souvenir shopping for my family and boyfriend back in Japan.
Share with us some of your favourite sports.
Basketball is my favourite, as I enjoy team sports. Other that, I also enjoy snowboarding, baseball, and weight training at the gym.
Tell us about your tattoos.
I like getting new tattoos whenever I travel, it’s like collecting stamps on a passport (laughs).
I got my most recent one here in Singapore—it’s the sun centrepiece on a ceiling fresco found in the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo.
What’s your favourite Studio Ghibli film?
Princess Mononoke, I’m crazy in love with it!
