“I’ve been a bookworm since I learnt the alphabet; I read everything I can get my hands on.” A self-proclaimed fan of “anything Neil Gaiman”,  Marianne is a final year student majoring in English Literature. Confessing that she’s quite the “chor lor” (Hokkien dialect for “clumsy”) character, she opted for a pair of sturdy platform wedges to go with her all-black classic-casual attire. Not one who gets tattoos on impulse, those that adorn her arm are all of personal significance – the one on her left is the Egyptian symbol of Life while her right wrist bears the Red Indian symbol of Friendship. When given the opportunity to dine with anyone in the world, she replied without hesitation, “a bunch of my closest friends. I already know the conversation will be great and I can let go and be myself around them. I also know what food they like and dislike, so I can ensure everybody enjoys themselves. What more could you ask for?” A true friend indeed.
