What’s something not many people know about working in advertising?
It’s not as glamorous as it sounds. A lot of the time, you work with people, more than you do with the brands themselves, and there’s a lot of crisis management. That said, it’s very rewarding when you finally get to see your work come to life after months of hard work, whether it’s a television commercial or something else.
What’s your advice for anyone who wants to enter advertising?
You need to really think about whether your personality is suited for it. Working in advertising is actually not so much about the hard skills, and you really need to be a people person. Other than that, you should be a detail-oriented person who loves creative work. It boils down to your personality.
What are some things you can’t live without?
My friends, and my phone. I love Instagram, I’m always on it. Instagram’s important to me because it’s not just for entertainment, I also use it to look for inspiration for work and fashion. I follow @cocobeautea because I love her style. There’s also @yiota and @thessy.k, they’re friends who run a fashion label together.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Potato chips! I love chips, my favourites are Lay’s Barbecue flavour, and Pomsticks’ Sour Cream.
If you had the power to change one thing about the world, big or small, what would it be?
Internet haters! They’re really annoying and way too dramatic. They need to just stop—people should all be nicer to each other.
