Perfect Fit

Vivian is quite particular about the way she dresses for work. “My outfit must be fitting — not too loose, but not too tight,” she says. “And tops that are to be tucked into skirts should also be fitting so that they don’t seem to ‘balloon’ over the top.” Other than that, she often falls back to some failsafe combinations. “It might seem a bit boring but you can’t go wrong with black, white, and dark blue for office wear. Black skirts are essential and the easiest to pair with, as are clean-cut dresses. I don’t wear anything too loud or flamboyant, but I try to pair my outfit with a matching watch, or a necklace if I’m wearing a very plain top.” If she wasn’t working in her current profession, Vivian says that she might have become an interior decorator, and perhaps, in some sense, this fascination with design has spilled over to her love for accessories. “I’m not sure when it started but I’ve been a bit obsessed with phone cases — I keep changing them, and I have about 7 cases for my new phone at the moment.” Off work, Vivian spends her time watching movies and café hopping, and tries to exercise at least twice a week. “I also used to read non-fiction books as there are lots of ‘eureka’ moments,” she says. Also, she readily admits to being a fan of Taylor Swift. “I like how her songs are like a girl’s diary, and every song you hear is like telling a different story at different life stages.” Perhaps she’s learnt something from Taylor Swift’s music as well, as she says that her personal motto in life right now is: “Tomorrow will be a better day.”
