A quote or philosophy that I live by:
The truth is always interesting.
Something I heard recently that inspired me:
I asked an old friend, “How do I know it’s time to move on?” And he replied, “When you do something “new” without feeling any of the energy, fear, excitement, challenge, rawness, insecurity, determination, and unknown of feeling new.” I know he’s right.
What’s your biggest fear in life?
Like anyone else’s I suppose—to not have lived.
You’ve mentioned that your wardrobe right now is almost exclusively white. When did this start, and why?
I work with colour in my practice to such a detail that I can’t stand seeing any of it on myself. I just want that blank canvas. It allows me to breathe and exist. It also becomes a sort of uniform; I don’t have to think about what to wear. I easily obsess about things and I don’t want to obsess about that.
If you weren’t an artist, what do you think you would be doing?
I don’t like plan Bs, so I don’t have any.
If you could go back in time to meet your younger self, what would you say?
Everything is going to be alright.
