As a trader, Fannie works from the comfort of her own home, so fortunately for her, workwear is not a problem. However, she still enjoys looking good when she goes out, and describes her personal style as classic chic. “My favourite pieces of clothing include vests, wide-legged pants and jumpsuits.” Fannie’s job gives her the freedom to work anywhere as long as she has an Internet connection, which is the part she likes most about what she does. The aspect she dreads, however, is having to deal with strings of losses. “It can be emotionally wrecking, even though I know it’s all part of trading dynamics.” She encourages people who are just stepping into the working world to take their time to discover what they want to do in life. “That doesn’t mean living each day going through the motions like a robot,” she says. “I only started searching for my purpose around 3 years ago; I wish I had done that much earlier in life. Time really flies, so keep trying new things and don’t stop searching for your real purpose.” It seems Fannie is heeding her own advice, as she headed to Tokyo for a month “to experience life, living in Japan.”
