Staying Grounded

Here’s a funny story: we didn’t approach Jacklyn when we first spotted her. Seated on the edge of one of the grass patches at the centre of Raffles Green, she seemed deep in conversation with a friend when we saw her, and so we kept our distance, only to realise later that the gentleman she’d been speaking to wasn’t a friend, but an insurance agent. Needless to say, she was relieved that we weren’t also approaching her to sell her something. Though she’d only recently joined the aviation industry, the air stewardess carried herself with an easy poise, and we love her off-duty look of a flowy jumpsuit paired with practical sneakers and a compact bag with industrial inspirations.
