What’s something you wish you knew about your industry before you joined it?
I’ve always wanted to join the hospitality industry because I had the assumption that I’d be able to travel more, but that’s not really true, especially when you’re on the corporate side. I enjoy the work I do now, of course, but that would have been good to know (laughs).

Where do you hope to see yourself in the future?
I want to manage a team and help people climb up the ladder whenever possible. I think it’s so important to have someone who can mentor you and let you explore your full potential, and I would love to be that person in the future.

If you happened to win a large sum of money, how would you spend the money?
I’d save a specific sum of money for my mother, donate another lump sum to charity, and then spend the last third on myself.

What’s one section of society you feel should receive more help?
Children from disadvantaged backgrounds or countries. A lot of kids grow up in less than perfect conditions and I always feel that they could have so much more potential if they were given more help.

Is there a skill you wish you were better at?
Public speaking. It’s something that’s necessary in the workforce, but a skill that’s always needs brushing up on. I think I’ve improved much more from my school days, but there are always days when I doubt myself.

If you could bring back one extinct creature, which one would it be?
I’d bring back the dodo bird—I did my internship in Mauritius which had dodo bird souvenirs and motifs everywhere, even though the animal had gone extinct. So that sparked my desire to see it alive.
