You just recently embarked on the journey of motherhood—if you could share a piece of advice with your past self, what would it be?
You’re supposed to be where you are, at the right time and the right place. Embrace the change and never underestimate your ability and amount of strength you have inside.
What’s something you’ve learnt from watching your mother?
She has a real big heart. Even if things do not go her way, she will choose the “heart way” and see it through to the end.
It’s 2AM and you’re craving a snack—what’s the first thing you’ll go for?
Potato chips, for sure!
What’s a quality you like the most about yourself?
Definitely my stubbornness (laughs).
Dance has been an important part of your life—what are some things you’ve taken away from dance?
1. Confidence; the confidence to be the person I am. I learn so much about myself through dance. One of the styles that I do is waacking, a style that embodies feminine strength and individuality. It unlocked the feminine side of me and allowed me to embrace the woman I am, both physically and mentally.
2. To be more sensitive and kind. Through dance, I get to connect with people from all walks of life, from different upbringing and cultures.
3. That though some days might get tough, dance and music always help you heal.
