The little pops of colour Vishal had incorporated into his outfit made all the difference in providing visual interest to his look; in his blazer pocket was a yellow and purple pocket square, and on his wrist was a bright orange watch. Dressing well probably comes easily to Vishal; when he was a lawyer, he had to wear suits every day, but now, as a venture capitalist, he gets to dress more casually. He describes his personal style as “George Clooney x Silicon Valley”, and blends his old and new worlds together through his outfits. “I’ll dress up a T-shirt and khakis with a sports coat and pocket square, or wear a suit with a T-shirt and sneakers. Not all experiments work, but I enjoy the process.” Being a venture capitalist wasn’t Vishal’s dream job growing up, but he’s grown to love it. “I love the fact that I get to meet so many driven, interesting, inspirational and visionary people trying to change the world and be a part of their endeavour,” he says. “The beauty of venture capitalism is that it tickles all aspects of the mind — the creative, the scientific, the logical, the commercial, the emotional.” He describes his job as one that allows him to build, create and grow companies and communities across the world, and with a personal motto to “make a dent in the universe”, it’s no wonder then that Vishal loves what he does.
