Browhaus x Shentonista — Behind-The-Scenes

Orchard Way isn’t one of our usual haunts when we shoot Shentonista, but we found plenty of inspiration in the concrete jungle. For the Browhaus BrowHunt campaign, we shot a group of five charming ladies who all have their own individual sense of style, not only when it comes to their dressing, but to their makeup and beauty looks as well.

We started out at the spacious, bright Browhaus outlet in the heart of Somerset, at Mandarin Gallery. Each girl was given their very own set of Browhaus products to play around with — five colours of their Bi-Liner, which also doubles as an eyeshadow; the Precision Eyeliner; the HD Mascara; and the Extend Lash & Brow Growth Serum.

True to her offbeat, unique sense of style, Linda turned up with pink locks and pink shoes, and even brought along some photos for makeup inspiration. She eventually chose the Bi-Liner in Blush Pink to complement her outfit, creating a graphic, eye-catching look on her eyelids by alternating the Bi-Liner with the Precision Eyeliner.

We then pulled her outdoors for her shoot, and as to be expected, Linda was completely natural and comfortable in front of the camera. She hardly needed any direction as she struck pose after pose, and took extra care to show off her eye makeup.

Ellie was next — turning up in a double-denim outfit, which clearly represented her street-inspired style, she picked the Midnight Blue Bi-Liner to further accentuate the hues of blue in her look, and used the gel liner to draw a classic cat-eye.

Ellie rocked the tessellated Browhaus clutch with her outfit, which served to highlight the cheeky side of her personality. She was definitely playful on set, even trying out some Michael-Jackson-style poses on the tips of her toes when it came to shooting her shoes.

Jayne then arrived in a girl-next-door look that was given a bit of edge in the form of beat-up sneakers and a no-nonsense bag. She picked the Blush Pink Bi-Liner as well, to match her purple-tinted hair, smudging it to an eyeshadow and cleaning up the look with a wing-tip done using the Precision Eyeliner.

Despite the noontime heat and the thick, heavy cardigan she had on, Jayne hardly broke a sweat and kept her sweet, calm disposition throughout. Smiling throughout, and never complaining, she pushed through the shoot just in time before the sunlight became too harsh.

We then met Jessica for her shoot. In a classy, feminine, rouge red dress, she kept her makeup natural, using the Precision Eyeliner to add some definition to her eyes and complementing her tanned skin tone with the Bi-Liner in Bronze.

Jessica was a picture elegance on set, charming everyone with her quiet demeanour and ladylike poise. Passersby stopped to see what was happening, some even openly snapping photos of Jessica, probably thinking she was a model on set.

Last but not least was Debra, who personified corporate with a twist in her slim-fitting houndstooth pencil skirt and tiered, silver necklace. Going for a slightly more dramatic look for her eye makeup, she used the Bi-Liner in Bronze to highlight her eyelids, in contrast to her almost-monochromatic outfit.

Debra gamely clambered up high steps in her fitted skirt and high heels so that we could get the shot that we needed. Although the sun was still strong, she kept her game face on and brought the day to a delightful end.
