Browhaus x Shentonista #BrowHunt: T-Shirt Weather
Featuring
Xi Xi
Student
Fair-skinned and statuesque, Xi Xi caught our eye as she was strolling down Orchard Road. Xi Xi is a student, and her casual-cool style is befitting of her youth and adds some spunk to her sweet character. Originally from China, Xi Xi is currently studying at a local polytechnic. We took some time to find out what she’s up to at the moment.
1. Do you think it is important for women to be well-groomed, and why?
Definitely, because your appearance reflects your inside.
2. What’s the silliest/most outrageous thing you’ve done for beauty?
Put on too much blusher!
3. How do you find ways to match your makeup to your look? Are there any pet peeves or no-nos that you have when it comes to make-up?
I always try to match my lip color with my look. A no-no would be thick, fake lashes.
4. Is there a look (style-wise or makeup-wise) that you’ve been wanting to try, but haven’t given it a go?
I’d love to try a grunge look someday!
5. What is the craziest/most adventurous makeup look you have ever tried?
I’ve done a vampire look before.
6. How have your look and brow shape evolved over the years?
I like to match my brow with my hair colour and my face shape. My brows are now lighter, but thicker.
7. If you could only pick 1 type of make up must-have, what would it be and why?
Lip tint. It adds colour to my face, which makes me look healthier.
8. What is your usual look? What do you usually use?
Normally, I would go for a natural look. I like to use brow gel or brow powder to fill in my brows, and mascara to give my eyes more definition. Maybe a little bit of colour tint for my cheek and lips.
9. What are some items in your wardrobe/on your dresser that you can’t live without?
A white t-shirt. It’s an essential basic in any wardrobe, and can be dressed up or down. It has a fresh and simple look; you can never go wrong with a white t-shirt since it will never be out of trend.
10. If you could wear a uniform of sorts for the rest of your life (to school/to work), what would your outfit consist of, and why?
A jacket or coat. Not only does will it keep you warm, it also looks more professional.
11. What is important for you to have at work, both in a material and emotional/psychological sense
Motivation, good health and mood, and a comfortable environment. For me, that means sufficient natural daylight, a comfortable temperature, not too much humidity, and plenty of greenery.
12. What is your idea of the CBD and Shenton Way? Do you think creativity can still exist even in the most corporate working environment?
I feel that it should be the representation of the city spirit. And sure, creativity exists everywhere!
13. What is one thing you’ve learnt from your work/life experience?
Always be organized. Being organized can keep you on track, ensure a good mindset and make it easier to achieve your goals.
14. Do you think Singaporeans have a sense of style, and do you think it’s changing/getting better/getting worse? What would you like Singaporeans to start embracing more?
Compared to other countries, Singapore lacks a variety of style. Maybe the tropical weather is one of the reasons for this.
15. What’s the one thing you think you should be doing more of, or that you wish you had more time to be doing?
I’ve always wanted to spend more time on the piano!
