Q1. How do you try to personalise your outfit, or find some way of making it look different from the usual office crowd?
Personality, and accessories!
Q2. We think that little things can make or break an outfit. What do you personally look for when it comes to shoes and accessories?
I believe there is always a balance between comfort and style. Shoes that pinch won’t make you look good if you are limping away. So, definitely, comfort always comes first. I like accessories that are unique and can be layered on. I like jewellery as they are versatile and have sentimental value. For bags — practicality wins hands down.
Q3. What are some of the items in your wardrobe or on your dresser that you can’t live without?
I’m more of a sentimental soul, and I always have my charm bracelet on — I think it’s because there’s a story in each charm weaved into it. Each charm was carefully chosen for its meaning and I think that’s a nice reminder to wear everyday!
Q4. Do you believe in routine or spontaneity, both at work and off work? How so?
Definitely spontaneity — I always choose my outfits based on my mood, so I never have the habit of pairing my outfit before I sleep, which I believe is a routine for many people! I think spontaneity adds a little sense of fun in everyday’s otherwise-mundane life. I do try to keep to some routines and habits like checklists so that you don’t go off tangent, especially at work!
Q5. What do you do when you’re simply having a terrible day at work? Or how do you personally cope/deal with stress from work?
A round of beer, friends and family. I try not to bring negativity from anywhere, be it work or elsewhere, to another setting as I feel it’s not really fair on the people you hang out with. But definitely a pint or two makes things much happier!
Q6. What’s the one thing you think you should be doing more of, or that you wish you had more time to be doing?
I have always loved to travel, so definitely more time to travel is always welcome. But the practicality of life means you’ve got to work hard first before you can enjoy yourself. But that’s alright, it just allows you more time to plan your next trip!
Q7. In light of Dr. Martens #standforsomething campaign, what’s the one thing you stand for? What do you personally believe in, be it at work, or in life?
Life is short, you only live once.
