Given her easy smile and charming demeanour, it might be hard to believe that Viola describes herself as a bit of an introvert. She is a picture of confidence in this glamorous outfit, which she picked especially for the festive mood, and to smartly complement the shades of purple on her Anna Sui bag. “It’s a bit difficult for me when it comes to business sometimes, because I have to meet with and talk to a lot of people,” she says. “But it’s something that I’m learning to be better at as I go along.” It seems that Viola will have endless opportunities to do so; she is one of the brains behind local fashion label Love, Bonito, which is rapidly becoming a favourite among ladies looking for affordable, chic clothing options that don’t skimp on quality. “I love observing the women on the street, and spotting them wearing our designs. It’s very fulfilling and rewarding.” And because the label is expanding regionally, which means more time spent abroad for Viola, she has an increased appreciation for Singapore’s safety, cleanliness, and public transport system.  “In Singapore, I can stay out past midnight with my friends and still feel safe travelling home,” she says. “We also have high cleanliness standards for such a small country, and a very efficient public transport system, so we have relatively short travel times. I don’t have to be stuck in jams for hours at a go.” Ever the efficient working woman, Viola’s must-have items in her bag include her Lego notebook for jotting down her thoughts and inspirations, a make-up pouchette for touch-ups on the go, and her phone, for everything else in between. While she loves her job, Viola acknowledges that the time she spends in Singapore is becoming increasingly precious. “It’s difficult to find time for friends and family sometimes, but they are very supportive of what I do, and believe in the brand,” she says. “They know what I do, and are very understanding, and we all try to make time for each other.”
