Brad & Melody

Anna Sui

Saint Laurent

Melody and Brad are avid travellers, and when it comes down to the necessities in their bag, it seems that they’ve gotten the basics down when it comes to packing smart and travelling light. Melody’s picks — lipstick, hand cream, and hand sanitizer — would resonate with any well-prepared lady, while Brad’s choice of his laptop, camera, and portable wi-fi is undoubtedly practical. Although the couple visits many exciting destinations, Melody says that sometimes it’s hard to separate work and relaxation. “We get to travel a lot and we’re always on the go, so we don’t really have a fixed office,” she says. “But even when we’re on holiday, you never know when inspiration will strike, and sometimes your brain still thinks about work over the weekends.” Nonetheless, Brad says that he’s happy to be able to do what he loves for a living — his ladyironchef site has been up and running for almost 7 years, and is one of the most recognised names in Singapore’s blogging scene. “What drives me to continue doing what I do is knowing that my readers appreciate what I do,” he says. “I’m a believer in working hard, playing hard, and travelling and seeing the world.” To which Melody chimes in, and adds: “Believe in yourself, and you’re halfway there.” It’s clear that this ever-loving couple find joy in each other’s company and support, but when it comes to style, there’s no surprise who’s influencing who. “Anna Sui is bold and vivacious, and I wanted to channel that sort of fun through these mystical prints,” Melody says, when asked about her outfit. Brad, on the other hand, laughingly says, “I chose this outfit because Melody says I should take the effort to look a little bit more colourful.” And although they like to travel, it seems that they won’t be leaving Singapore for good any time soon; Melody says that Singapore’s safety and cleanliness are the things she’s most proud of, while Brad lists our education system and efficient transport system. And the one thing they both agree on? Our food, of course.
