Whiteout

Full white can be such a breath of fresh air; like a clean palette, it can look sleek and sophisticated, or light and carefree. But we also know that white can be a pain to look after — the slightest, smallest stains show up on white, and in this weather, yellowed sweat patches are pretty common too. So how do you keep your white clothes looking pristine? First of all, if you get a stain on your garment, seek treatment immediately. Rinse the stain out with warm water, and apply a pre-treating agent. This can include enzyme detergents and oxygen bleach, but common household items such as dish-washing liquid or clear shampoo would work as well. Secondly, separate your white clothes from your coloured clothes when you wash them — this is a no-brainer. And thirdly, if you’re wearing white, touch less. This might take some getting used to, but you should be extra careful about the surfaces you’re touching or leaning on — seats, railings, walls — so that you don’t get too much dirt on your clothes. Follow these simple steps and wearing white can be a breeze for anyone.
