Scariest thing I’ve ever done:
Quitting my job last year. It’s quite insane, lah. It’s not something most people would do here in Singapore, with the whole culture driven by working hard, getting a job…I was working in auditing but I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere, nor did I feel any sense of satisfaction. It was quite a challenging decision to make, but so far I have no regrets. I’m moving towards the marketing industry.

My interest in marketing stems from the online business that I have.
I make and sell handmade laptop cases. I actually source for all the fabrics both locally and overseas, and it’s more on a made-to-order basis.

How did you start this?
I learnt how to sew from home economics classes in secondary school, and from there it was kind of trial and error for me, making things on the side and moving into laptop sleeves. Instagram really helped to push the business, and word got out when I spoke to people and received sponsorships from schools.

In my free time:
I recently took up exercising; I’m quite into yoga lately. Moving out of the corporate world is a huge change in lifestyle. For now I’m keeping myself busy and doing what I couldn’t do in the past because you work really long hours in audit and really don’t have time for yourself.

People don’t know this but…
I’m quite a perfectionist. I place quite high expectations on myself, even down to the small details. I think people don’t really realise it.
