You’re carrying the book Crazy Rich Asians; is that what you’re reading now?
I just wanted to buy a book, and reviews said that it’s a nice book so I bought it. But I’m currently reading The Alchemist in Chinese.

Why are you studying Chinese?
I’ve always wanted to study languages, and I don’t like other subject matters as much. I started studying Asian languages in the Czech Republic and decided to move to Taiwan to continue studying there. Besides the language, I’m also studying the cultural aspects of Taiwan and its relationship with China.

What’s your favourite food from Taiwan?
I like the the beef noodles there.

Is it your first time here in Singapore?
No, my boyfriend’s Singaporean, so I come over at least once a month to visit him.

What do you like best about Singapore?
I like how there’s a mix of Western and Asian influences. Taiwan’s a little too Asian for me, but Singapore is more cosmopolitan.
