A Passport To Passion

What’s something not many people know about you?
That I love the arts. I used to draw and paint, and I actually attended an art school for some time after my ‘O’ Levels because I wanted to pursue a career in the arts. Unfortunately, I chose practicality over passion, so I eventually dropped the idea and pursued something else that made for a more viable career.
If you could relive any time in your life, which would it be and why?
Probably my late teens, so I could change some of the choices I made back then.
If there was going to be a movie of your life, which actor would you want to play you, and why?
Jennifer Lopez—she’s really hot and she only gets hotter with age. As a person, she’s a strong independent woman who’s successful in whatever she does.
What’s a dish that best describes you?
I’ve been told that I’m like jalebi (an Indian sweet of fried flour glazed in syrup). You won’t know what to expect because it seems complicated at first glance, but it’s really quite simple once you try it.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be, and how would you use it?
Definitely teleportation, so I could travel anywhere, any time I want!
What’s the most memorable travel experience you’ve had so far?
It’d have to be when I was travelling to the Phi Phi Islands by speedboat last August. It was the start of the monsoon season, and the boat ride felt like I was in the movie The Perfect Storm. I was seated on the outdoor deck, and as we rode out into the storm, I was literally praying for my life because the rain, wind, and waves were crazy! (laughs) There were a lot of moments when I thought that the boat was going to capsize!
