How did you get started in cardistry?
It was actually really simple—when I was 14, I saw a cool YouTube video and that made me want to start learning.

What has cardistry taught you?
When I first picked up cardistry, I enjoyed making my own videos of the tricks that I do. Making these videos made me realise how much I enjoyed video editing and production, which is something I do as a job now.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Well, that’s a good question (laughs). Actually, I feel like my life is pretty public on social media, so I feel like people know a lot about me.

What’s a book or a movie that you’d recommend?
Someone just introduced me to Modern Family on Netflix, and I feel that the scriptwriting is really good. As for books, I’d recommend Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon, where he talks about how, in art, there is nothing original and everything is a remake.

If there was a project you could embark on, knowing that you wouldn’t fail, what would you do and why?
I actually started something recently; I’ve been live-streaming my cardistry on Twitch to try and introduce more people into the hobby. That’s the thing that has taken up most of my time outside of work. I’m doing this because I feel that the hobby has a lot of to offer to those that learn it; it has a high skill ceiling and a very welcoming community that is quite active online, just that it can be intimidating to people starting out, which is why I wanted to start live-streaming.
