All Systems Go

Introduce yourself!
My name is Aniq Irfan and I’m 16 this year. I’m taking my N Levels this year and it’s been stressful so far. The first term hasn’t been well, so I’m hoping term two will be much better.

All the best to you! What do you like to do outside of school?
I like to play football. I used to be in the national team but I stopped. Other than that, I like clothes and hanging out with my friends. We like to go around and eat food, especially at Burgs and Kampong Glam Cafe. On my own, I like watching anime. I’m currently watching Bleach and Blue Lock.

That’s nice! What are some of your plans after graduating?
I want to go into aerospace management, and, hopefully in the future, become a pilot or work in the air traffic control tower.

Oh cool! What sparked your interest in aerospace in general?
Most of my family members are in the aerospace business, some as engineers and some as air squatters, but there has yet to be a pilot in the family, so I want to be the first!

Let’s talk a bit about your interest in anime now. What do you like most about it?
I like the stories they tell. I especially like Blue Lock in particular because it’s an anime about football, and I grew up playing football with my friends, so it brings back good memories for me.

Would you say that your love for anime has influenced your personal style?
Not really, though I used to thrift a lot when I was younger, maybe in primary four or so. But back then, I was too young to style myself well so I looked really goofy (laughs). Now, I’m cleaning out the pieces that I have and am discovering a lot of older clothes that I think I can re-style and re-wear.
