A Safe Bet
What are some lessons your work has taught you?
To always get yourself covered with insurance! (laughs) It’s especially important for young people like us, since we think we’ll always be healthy and will never need insurance.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I usually hang out with friends and go gaming, though the only game I play is Left 4 Dead. Besides that, I also like to go to for karaoke sessions and have drinks.
What’s your go-to song at karaoke?
I usually sing Mandopop songs, and my favourites are songs by Stefanie Sun and Rainie Yang.
What’s something you’d like to be remembered for?
For being garang (fierce), and daring to take risks in life. The biggest risk I’ve taken was quitting my first job of four years to work at a pet grooming salon. I ended up quitting the salon after one day, because I realised that the experience was very different from what I’d expected.
What made you decide to do that?
I was starting to get sick of my job, and I thought that I should pursue my passion of working with animals. I thought I’d get to trim the dogs’ fur, but I had to work my way up from the bottom, so I had to bathe 12 dogs on my first day, and my back hurt so much from bending over to bathe them that I decided I couldn’t last long in that role.
