If you had to give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Stop feeling guilty about eating! You love food, accept it and go eat whatever you want. Appreciate everything about your body and look after it because it’s all we have. Weight gain as we grow up is completely natural and there is absolutely nothing gross about nourishing our bodies right. The sooner you realise this, the more fries you get to eat!

What are some things that touch rugby has taught you?
In touch rugby, we intentionally go backwards even though we are attacking forward because this gives us more space to execute our moves. It reminds me that we can always take a step back to breathe and opportunities will naturally show itself when we are composed. It has built up my perseverance, made me more resilient, toughened me up, and given me thicker skin. I am able to take constructive criticism and for that I’m thankful.

If you had to choose any other degree than the one you studied for, which one would it be and why?
Veterinary science. I love animals so much and it’s so sad to see what is happening around the world to poor animals just because they don’t have a voice. I want to protect all our furry (or not) friends everywhere.

What’s something you’re now into that you never expected yourself to be into?
Having kids in the future and the prospect of being a mother. If you had asked me just two years ago, I would have been adamant about my decision to not have any children, only dogs.

Do you often remember your dreams? If so, what’s a dream you’d like to see become a reality?
Yes, recently I often dream about being able to play touch rugby with my teammates. In this current climate, a dream I’d like to see become a reality is simple—just to be able to play touch rugby the way it was pre-Covid, and also maybe to travel.

What’s the best decision you have made in the past year?
Taking a long break from social media to refocus my energy on myself.
