For Rebecca, balance seems to underlie most of her decisions. With dressing, that means both style and comfort are equally important. Rebecca favours classic pieces, introducing individuality with just a single point of interest like a pop of colour or a quirky accessory, but she also takes comfort into “very serious consideration. “So you’d seldom see me in bandage dresses, short skirts or anything that restricts my movements.” This practicality extends to her maintenance of a work-life balance. “Be organised and plan in advance,” she advises. “I usually make sure I’m occupied or packed with activities on weekends! I hate the idea of not doing anything and sleeping my weekends away.” Rebecca used to play the cello and dance salsa, but now that she’s working, she prefers an activity that is more relaxing and tranquil — she recently started practising yoga and has been incorporating regular classes into her weekday schedule. “I take classes during lunch or after work, and these form my little snippets of personal time.” Beyond finding zen in yoga, Rebecca maintains her calm demeanour by reminding herself: “This too shall pass”. “I believe that no matter how difficult things are in life, they will eventually pass with time. What’s more important is moving on despite any setback.”
