Tell us something not many people know about you:
I like to write, and I used to write quite a bit of poems and prose. I wanted to be a writer, but I was also doing art which I enjoyed, and somehow I became an art director.
Do you have any favourite writers?
There’s Clementine von Radics, a contemporary poet who posts her writings online, and locally I like Kuo Pao Kun’s works for how they examine Singaporean identity.
In terms of art, who inspires you?
I’m a fan of female creatives. One of the people who inspires me is also a friend whom I look up to: local photographer Lenne Chai. I really like her work and how she explores the female gaze.
Describe your sense of style:
Whatever’s comfortable, and doesn’t make me look like I’m wearing pyjamas to work. (laughs) I usually shop from thrift stores, I like that the quality of the pieces are better than what you’d get with fast fashion even though they’re old.
If there was a theme song that played every time you entered a room, what would it be?
Plain Jane by A$AP Ferg. It’s what I listen to every morning to wake myself up.
