Because she works in digital marketing, Floremae says she is bombarded with digital information every day, so she finds it best to tune out when she’s not at work. “I try my very best to read books in between travelling. When I first started work, it was an adjustment indeed. I’d come home straight from work and just crash in bed. This probably went on for a good month,” she says. “Subsequently, I got used to the lifestyle. Just grab that after work beer with your mates if need be. I also enjoy cafe hopping and if possible, I try squeezing in a movie session.” Describing her style as corporate but spunky, Floremae adjusts her look according to her schedule at work and her plans after hours. “This could be meetings with clients, or dinner gatherings with friends after work.” She avoids mini skirts at work, however. “I believe short skirts ought to be worn on weekends or in the club, and not at work.” Now that she’s managed to cope with work, Floremae loves that she’s able to learn something new everyday. “The challenge of working in a fast-paced environment is making sure I am equipped with up-to-date information. I think it’s also important to prove yourself and learn as much as you can about your company within your probation period.” It seems that Floremae draws her bearing and demeanour from her role models in life — her parents.
