“There are so many styles and colours out there to explore, so why stick to just one?” Inez is a versatile dresser, and encourages others to follow suit. “You can look professional and formal by just wearing a blazer or vest over your outfit, and when it comes to after-work drinks or chilling out with friends, you still look chic and, most importantly, you’re comfortable.” She also says she doesn’t usually buy clothes from local blog shops to avoid running into someone in the same dress or outfit. Inez works in banking, and says she enjoys the flexibility of time, although there isn’t a lull period in the year that she can take a breather in. How does she get through tough times? “People — from different departments, colleagues, your bosses, etc. You never know when you’ll need their help along the way. It also helps to gossip less.” At work and in life, Inez reminds herself: “Your value does not decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.” And despite work being a steady flow, Inez says she never has trouble juggling her personal and work lives. “We always have a choice,” she says. “Over the weekends, I love spending time with my corgi. I bring him out to meet new friends, or out for picnics.” If she could do anything she wanted, Inez says she would like to become a farmer living in France, growing her own cheese and having her own vineyard. Asked to come up with something interesting about herself off the top of her head, and perhaps spurred by the current durian season, Inez says she doesn’t eat durian, or carrots while she’s on the topic. “Not at all, in any form!”
