We hear that you’re getting married soon! How has the wedding preparation been going?
I’m getting married to my fiancé, Azim, this year! I’m really looking forward to our wedding day, but the process has been quite taxing. The bulk of the planning like the vendor, hair and makeup, and bridal stuff are all settled, so we’re just left with small, miscellaneous things like door gifts, which I’m not enjoying.

That said, I can’t wait to attend fittings and get our wedding fits sorted! I did think I’d be slimmer by now, but that’s okay (laughs).

Tell us the story of your proposal.
I didn’t think Azim was the type of guy who would propose because we’re both Muslim and he’s always said that he wasn’t into such Westernised traditions, so he really caught me off guard that day! He went out of his comfort zone as he knew I’d appreciate it, and even made a whole atas (fancy) picnic setup.

After the proposal, we sat around and had such a good time reminiscing the story of how we met—I’m sure he’s told you about it—and it kind of rekindled our love (laughs).

What’s the biggest lesson Azim has taught you after all these years?
Maturity and patience. He’s taught me a lot and has made me a better person.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
Azim and I used to have picnics all the time, especially during the Covid-19 lockdown. We even invested in foldable chairs so we could have picnics practically anywhere!

I also like to go out for a meal by myself sometimes. It’s not that I’m lonely, I just enjoy some alone time eating and people-watching. My go-to comfort food is the beef noodles from Saap Saap Thai.

Where do you like to shop for your clothes?
I’ve been a Zalora girl for over 10 years. In fact, everything I’m wearing today is from there! I like that they have many brands to choose from; it’s nice that many of them cater to Muslimahs like me too.
