Life Outside
How did you come to Singapore?
My now-husband, then-boyfriend proposed when I was in New York. He’s Australian, working here in Singapore. I’ve been in Singapore for eight years and I have three kids aged 7, 5 and 1. They go to French school here.
So what’s your fav activity you like to do together as a family?
Surfing! My older kids can surf.
Something I can’t live without:
My kids.
My family has an interesting mix:
I’m French/German/Nicaraguan, my husband Simon is British/Australian, and our kids Jack, Paloma, and Freddie were born in Singapore.
Any advice you’d like to give to new parents?
My father-in-law once told us, “If anyone gives you a book on parenting, say thank you, then hit them with it!” I think what he meant to say is that parenting should come naturally.
What would you recommend to see and do in France?
I’m from Chamonix, so if you come in the winter, eat lots of cheese and make sure to get a ski/snowboarding instructor to take you to some great spots. In the summer, hike the Lac Blanc—amazing views of the Mont Blanc—and eat more cheese (Tomme de Savoie, of course)!
