We hear you previously worked as a flight crew. Can you tell us more about that and what you’ve been up to since you left?
I was previously a flight crew based in Hong Kong but left after my base closed. After I returned to Singapore, I decided to pursue a one-year fashion diploma as I’ve always been interested in fashion. It was an intensive process having to pick up everything from scratch since I couldn’t even sew, but it’s all about passion.

What do you miss most about your time as a flight crew?
It’s tiring work, but it also allows for a lot of exploration. When I was a flight crew, I had many routes to the US, so I got to experience interesting cities like Chicago and San Francisco.

One thing I couldn’t really deal with was jet lag, but I got used to it eventually (laughs).

What’s your favourite travel destination?
I love travelling to Japan! I actually just returned from a trip to Osaka. I really enjoy the thrifting scene there—the stores are very well curated. In fact, I got this pair of pants that I’m wearing at 60% off retail price!

If you could offer everyone one piece advice for the new year, what would it be?
Take it easy! Even if things go wrong or not according to plan, just take a deep breath because it’s not the end of the world—it never is.
