On The Job
Kim’s outfit looks weekend-ready, but she’s actually just fortunate enough to be able to dress practically however she wants when she goes to the office. The head of womenswear at Zalora is a fan of mixing high fashion with high street labels, and never seems to stop designing—she made her own necklace with beads she picked up in New York. “It’s a ‘passion job’, so I don’t think you ever really switch off from it, but I don’t mind as this is what I’m interested in personally, too,” she says. “However, I’m quite strict on working smart and maintaining a work-life balance, so I try not to work over time unless there’s a really crucial deadline.” In her spare time, Kim tries to make the most of our “awesome climate” by going wake boarding, hiking, to the beach, or for barbecues. Interestingly, this half-Dutch, half-English girl was actually born in Brunei. “My first childhood memory is not being allowed to leave pre-school because a troop of aggressive monkeys had taken over the playground.”
