Open-Ended

As per her outfit today, Janice says she typically dresses in black and white. “It’s low maintenance, and works because I often wear the same combination of items,” she says. “A t-shirt, pants, and a cool jacket — that’s it.” It’s a combination that works, with the jacket dressing up the otherwise plain basics she has on. It helps that her jacket is made of a mesh-like material that’s perfect for layering in this heat. What she lacks in colour, though, she makes up for in the form of bodily accessories, in the form of tattoos. She takes us through one of the ones she has on her arm, an open quotation mark, that she got about three years ago. “Well, I’ve always liked writing, so I felt that this represents anything I say or do. You know how most people usually have two of these, like one on each arm? I only have one, so far; I’ll get the other one when I’m dead in the ground. It kinda signifies the end of my story — when there’s nothing else left to say.”
