Samantha is quite the traveller and collector, both of items and of memories. She got her cuff from Australia, bracelets from Langkawi, will be visiting Shanghai in October, and when she turns 30 next year, she has plans to go to Vietnam. “On my birthday I’m planning to head to Han Son Doong in Vietnam, the world’s largest cave for a trek — bucket list!” Beyond travelling, Samantha has a love for food, and would love to be a professional food taster if she could. She’s also big on fitness, as her boyfriend runs a PowerPlates studio on Tras Street. “After work I usually go for a Plates class or a RipTide class, and I’m helping him with a new project that’s an online retail platform for athleisure/sportluxe sportswear.” Samantha describes her style as quirky, saying she is happy both in colours and monochrome, and “happiest in flats”, but always adds an accessory to her look. Being in a creative agency does have its perks when it comes to dressing up, but she still tries to dress smart whenever she has client meetings, which means no jeans or shorts for her. “My favourite part of my job is learning about new industries, or new things about industries that I have been working on.” Her alternative outlet of de-stressing? “If I’m not at the studio in a sports class after work, I go out for wine with my girlfriends. We have running ‘Wednesdate’ called Whiney Wednesdays, so it’s us and two — maybe three — bottles of wine and gossip!”
