Zoe describes her stye as classic, with a touch of femininity, and has no issue with the formal office dress codes, having gotten used to them ever since she started working. Whatever she chooses to wear, Zoe always makes a conscious effort to ensure that her skirt lengths never go above the knee, and abides by a personal philosophy: “Dress like who you want to be at work.” If Zoe wasn’t working in finance, she sees herself as an architect or a pilot. Given a chance, however, she would also like to be a full time art gallery owner, instead of chasing numbers all day, which she says is sometimes the cause of stress at work. Nonetheless, she enjoys the opportunity to meet different people at work everyday, and chooses to look on the bright side, maintaining a positive attitude by living by her personal motto: “It’s better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.” One thing that Zoe’s learnt from her personal experience is that it’s important to start out in a role that exposes one to many things instead of specialising in a particular field. She also advises that one should always remember to work hard and play hard in order to achieve a work-life balance. “Identify possible time slots when you’re likely to be free, and commit to meeting friends or family then.” When she’s off work, Zoe indulges in her favourite things like food, traveling and painting, and also maintains a healthy lifestyle by practicing yoga and eating well. “I eat five meals a day!”
