Tell us more about what you do for work. Have you been in this line for very long?
I’m a Recruitment Consultant, and I’ve been doing this for the past nine years because it pays the bills (laughs). That, and I also happen to like my job!
In another life, what do you think you’d be doing for work?
Many things! When I was a kid, I wanted to be a fashion designer, but I’m not good at sewing, so I didn’t pursue it (laughs).
You must be really into fashion then! How would you describe your style?
I am! I would say my style is quite versatile—on the weekends, I like to dress in different styles like street style, boho, or go a bit more feminine with heels and dresses. It really depends on my mood.
You’ve also got some pretty cool tattoos! Can you tell us more about them?
All the tattoos that I have so far are on my arms.
For the flowers, I got them simply because I love flowers. For animals, I have a geometric piece on the back of my arm of half a lion because I really like lions—I think they’re my spirit animal. I also have a sparrow to symbolise freedom while remembering my roots—no matter how far away they fly, they always come home eventually. Finally, for text, I have a quote that I really like—“this too shall pass”. I also got the word “alive” done in Japan to remind myself to be thankful that I’m alive.
Do you have any plans to get more?
Maybe in the future, yes, but I don’t have any concrete plans yet. I mainly get my tattoos done when I travel overseas.
What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this year?
I’ve actually been very emotionally invested in the situation in Palestine, so I’m looking forward to seeing a ceasefire happen as soon as possible. That’s really all I’m wishing for right now.
