When we sent Loic a follow-up with some questions, after we met and photographed him on the street, the man of few words gave us a short-worded, cheeky reply, in particular to when we asked him what he believed in. “I do believe that I will skip all these questions,” he said. “And I do believe that ignorance is bliss, and that is not a motto, just a lie.” Loic furnishes his witty humour with impeccable style, and explains that his outfit is carefully curated, down to all the smallest details. We see that in his outfit today — the red cufflinks that match his red belt, for example; or his deliberately scuffed, worn-in shoes; right down to the gold ring on his hand, artfully rested on a very gentlemanly umbrella. “Everything is thought out. Nothing is a coincidence.” A happy coincidence for us, nonetheless, when we bumped into him that day.
