The More The Merrier

“I can’t live without colours and prints,” Bie says. “The more the merrier.” Taking fashion inspiration from Miroslava Duma, Carlotta Oddi and Candela Novembre, Bie also says she believes that style should be about wearing clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident: “Stay true to yourself and find your personal style.” Working in the digital fashion landscape, Bie has learnt that it’s important to always keep calm, and breathe in and out, something which she believes can be applied to any job. “You’re human so you can’t conquer the world in one day,” she says. “Try to make every day a memorable and happy one.” If she wasn’t in her current career, Bie says that, in her second life, she’d love to travel and conquer the world, or become a neurosurgeon. She’s also quite the healthy-lifestyle enthusiast, taking the time to do some form of sport every day, be it running or swimming, and in her pursuit of healthy food, has also founded her own breakfast brand. Nonetheless, fashion and the online media will always be something that occupies Bie’s time, and on the side, she’s also the sales and marketing manager of an online fashion, beauty, and lifestyle platform. “I’m addicted to Pinterest and Instagram. They’re great sources of inspiration, and I can scroll for hours just to get inspired and find new stuff.” When we met Bie, it was just around Christmas, and with the rest of her family back in her hometown of Belgium, she says she’s missing them enormously. “I love having drinks and food with my friends and family, and since I’m living in Singapore now, this is my first time that I’m not spending Christmas with my family. I’m not used to that.”
