That’s a very unique way of styling your hijab! Can you tell us how you did it?
I have two younger sisters-in-law, and they’re always experimenting with ways of new ways of styling or wearing the hijab. So we just learn from each other and try to style it differently, depending on what suits us, or what looks best with our outfit.

Apart from trying out different ways of styling the hijab, I think it’s also nice to have different, brighter coloured hijabs. I chose to wear this pink hijab today because I like it, and also because it’s brighter than your usual black, white, or neutral ones.

We understand that you’re a Talent Acquisition Manager. Does working in a corporate environment affect your outfit choices on the weekdays?
I usually dress according to how I’m feeling each day, so it differs on a day-to-day basis. But generally, I don’t feel awkward wearing whatever I want at work. It’s always nice to dress up for yourself!

What are some things about your current job or company that surprised you when you first started working?
I was surprised that my current company prioritises having a good work-life balance, regardless of whether you’re single, married, or a parent.

This is especially heartwarming for a working mom like me with five kids at home, because I get to spend quality time with them after work and on the weekends. The support I get from my bosses and teammates in this aspect is really amazing.

Apart from having a good work-life balance, what is one thing that you love about your job?
I love my job because it gives me the satisfaction of helping someone get the job that they want, whether it’s their dream job, or a job that puts food on the table and allows them to give the world to their family.

I also like that my role at work involves technology, because there’s always have something new to learn.

Outside of work, do you have daily rituals or self-care routines?
Well, my self-care habit is spending time with my five children and hubby!

I’m a working mom from Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm, so as it is, I feel like I do not have enough time with my family. As a treat, my husband and I will bring the kids for a short vacation in Malaysia to recharge and rejuvenate, and most importantly, spend some quality time bonding with one another every once in a while.
