Young Ambition

Tell us a little more about yourself.
I’m studying mass communications right now. I studied film previously but I thought mass communications would be a more general degree, and it’d be easier to get jobs. I’m considering either going into the film industry or journalism after graduation.

What’s a dream film you’d like to direct?
I worked on an art film for my final year project in Polytechnic, and I think I want to go back and revisit the idea. I produced the film, and my director came up with the idea of a character with Alzheimer’s disease. The main character is taking care of her father who’s going through Alzheimer’s disease, and the film is about their struggles. We shot it in two languages.

What’s a show or movie you feel has been overhyped?
There’s a rom-com on Netflix called The Perfect Date which I really didn’t enjoy. I think a lot of movies with Noah Centineo are okay, but he’s overhyped as an actor.

What’s something about adulthood that you always liked as a child?
The freedom to make your own choices.

If you had all the money in the world, what’s the first item you’d buy for yourself?
I’d probably buy myself a proper DSLR camera. Right now, I’m borrowing my friends’ cameras to shoot, but I want to have my own.

Tell us about the biggest fashion risk you’ve ever taken:
I once cut my hair really short, and shaved the back of my head. I think it’s something everyone should try once in their lifetime—it’s very freeing.
