It’s easy to see the appeal of statement necklaces. They instantly dress up the simplest of looks, and can be worn both to work and for weekends off. We’ve been seeing a change in the form of these necklaces, however; gone are the gaudy, glittery baubles that were in trend some seasons back. Today’s necklaces tend to be more geometric and playful in shape and form, sometimes reminding us of building blocks, and others of parts more commonly found in hardware stores. They come in all kinds of materials too — from wood, to ceramic, polymer clay, metal, and acrylic. On your laziest days, or on days when you hit the snooze button one too many times, grab a shift dress, throw on your favourite necklace and a pair of block-heeled sandals, and you’re good to go.
