Puff Piece
Featuring (from left to right, top to bottom): Jeremy, Lynn, Carol, Skye, Ivan, Rizka
Besides a ’70’s throwback, wider and relaxed silhouettes for bottoms might be seen as passé—conventional wisdom (and most common sense) dictates that slim cuts make you look taller and slimmer. However, what makes this look modern, and infinitely more comfortable, is the difference in material. Gone are the palazzo pants in airy silk or gauzy chiffon; these pants in denim or chino, in neutral colours—black, grey, navy and earth tones tone down the strong silhouette—do the trick. Tuck in a buttoned-up shirt for a preppy look that highlights the waist, while a plain, well-fitted t-shirt plays on proportion. Cropped to barely graze your ankles, or sweep the top of your shoes, these pants are a great alternative to a pair of tailored trousers or jeans.
