“I used to operate my own small fashion boutique in India selling my original Western-Indian fusion pieces, but I shut the boutique down to move to Singapore in 2012.”
“I take inspiration from visual kei bands, which are Japanese bands with extravagant stage costumes, so I usually dress in that style. And, because I also like vintage apparel, I mix in vintage shirts and boots.”
“As immigrants in California, my family and I cook a lot of Filipino food at home. My favourites are adobo, which is a flavourful chicken or pork stew, and dinuguan, a pork blood stew also known as chocolate meat.”
“Being a new parent is both exciting and stressful at the same time. Our daughter Audi is quite the Daddy’s girl, so I’m hoping our next child, when we do have one, will be a Mummy’s boy!”
“I’m turning 25 this year and am learning to enjoy my own company, and keeping my body and mind fit as much as possible. As a start, I've recently begun going for runs and boxing classes. Although I’m rather new to these hobbies, I’ve already made them my personality traits!”
“I work full-time in events management and also freelance as a theatre lighting designer, which are two very time-consuming jobs. That said, I’m thankful that my colleagues and the people in my personal life have been so supportive and accommodating, especially since I’m all about that work-life integration.”
“Family is very important to me. I was very close to my mum before she passed away three years ago—she raised my sister and I as a single parent. Now, my sister has three young sons, and even though I don’t normally like kids, I love being an aunt to my nephews!”
“I’ll be starting university soon, and I’m most excited to make new friends. I do have a close group of friends right now, and I definitely love them, but it's always nice to meet new people and see how they're living different lives, and going through different experiences.”
“I was working in banking since I got my Masters in Business Administration, but I later quit my job to become a stay-at-home mum. Now, I’m considering returning to the workforce. I recently took a course in image consulting and really enjoyed it, so it’ll be nice to give that a try.”
“A lot of the time at work we’re just in autopilot mode to meet other people’s expectations, right? What I really want to achieve this year is inner peace, and to find a balance within myself without caring too much about other people’s judgement.”
“I’ve been with my fiancé, Ian, for close to 10 years now. As cheesy as it sounds, there are rarely any dull moments with him because he always tries his best to make me laugh. We’re getting married soon, so it feels really surreal to start calling him my husband!”
