Introduce yourself!
I’m Kaelyn and I’m a makeup artist. I’ve been doing this for three to four years and I love what I do because I love cosmetics. I’m also a freelance clothing model on the side, and I also create content about cosmetics when brands send me samples.

Cool! We can tell you’re really good at makeup. Do you have any favourite makeup brands?
I think every brand has their own strong point, so I don’t have a favourite. I do have my preferred brands for each type of product though.

Ahh yes, that makes sense! How about your favourite style of makeup?
I like glowy, glassy skin and that natural vibe.

Very nice! Outside of work and the beauty world, what else do you enjoy?
I like coffee and reading, so I like to go to cafés a lot. I’m also learning how to make my own coffee at home, but I think my skills are not very good yet (laughs).

We’re sure you’ll get there! Any favourite cafés or spots to visit in general?
I like to get coffee at East Coast because I like the beach. The CBD has good coffee too.

Oh yes, that’s one of our favourites too. So are your weekends mostly spent café hopping?
I’m very busy on weekends actually because I focus more on bridal makeup as a makeup artist, so I’m always working on the weekends. But on the weekdays, I have more time to chill and follow my own schedule and do my own things.

Oh! What do you enjoy most about being a bridal makeup artist?
I love the stories of all of my brides. I always like hearing about how they met their partners, how they built up their relationship, and how they eventually ended up together. I’m just very thankful to be a part of their wedding because it’s such a big, important day, and when you witness these couples get married, it’s very touching.
