Tell us what you do.
I’m a crewing executive. I take care of everyone onboard a vessel—there can be lots of challenges to get people aboard. Officially, my job is 9AM to 6PM but when there are vessels overseas, I have to be attentive overnight to make sure the operations go smoothly.

How did you get into this line of work?
By chance, when I was 19!

Describe your perfect weekend.
Spending time with my four year old son! He’s very active and likes to climb around. We love going to the museum or having a picnic.

What’s your favourite food?
I usually cook Malay dishes at home. My signature dish is mee soto! The secret is having a rich soup with spices, topped off with bergedil and sambal.

To you, what is fashion?
Fashion should represent your personality, and it should be comfortable. My style hasn’t changed much since young.

Describe yourself in three words.
Introverted but extroverted, and energetic!

What’s something you’d like to pick up?
I want to get back to breakdancing. I started at 16 but stopped when I got married. It’s a way for me to express myself and dance away my stress. But it’s very physical and you do get injuries here and there (laughs).

What’s one piece of advice you would give your younger self?
Never give up. That has always been my motto. No one has a perfect life and there’re always ups and downs. But don’t look back, just keep moving forward.
