It was Sheryl-Anne’s chunky boots that caught our eye first — definitely not a common sight here in the CBD, but perfect for the rainy weather. She gives her floor-length maxi dress some shape and edge in the form of a belt with oversized eyelets, and adds a bit of colour to her look with a practical blue tote. We caught her on the way to the money changer, with her boyfriend, and the duo are planning a trip to Italy. When asked to describe her style, Sheryl-Anne laughs in bewilderment and looks to her boyfriend, who promptly offers “modern chic.” “I don’t really follow the trends in Singapore,” she says. “I get inspiration from everywhere and then I simplify it for myself. I suppose it’s quite a basic look.” Whatever she’s doing, she’s doing it well; and although Sheryl-Anne protested at first at having her photo taken (“I don’t do OOTDs (outfit-of-the-day photos)! I’m not very good at this!”), we think she’s got a look that is easy to emulate and easy to love.
