First Flight

It’s not hard to guess what drew us to this adorable mother-daughter duo. With her husband here on a work trip, Chen Yan tells us they decided to make it a short vacation for the family, which was coincidentally the first visit here for their daughter Zoe. The six-year-old thoroughly charmed the team with how quickly she warmed to the camera and to us, gabbing eloquently about the local landmarks they’d seen, and those they were looking forward to seeing. Of course, with food being a big part of any travel experience, we were curious to hear her opinion on Singaporean food, and were tickled by her take on our local breakfast: “I like the toast. The soft-boiled eggs here are funny, they feel like they’re not completely cooked when they’re runny.”
