How has the past year been for you?
There’s been an unexpected change of pace, which took a while to get used to, but it’s been picking up since the end of the year. Overall, I think I can’t complain much, honestly. I quite miss going for arts events so seeing more of them pop up recently is a nice change.

What’s a career line you’re hoping to enter once you graduate?
I’m in two minds about whether I want to become an artist myself or work in the backend to support artists. I have one more year to figure it out before I graduate so there’s still time (laughs). I’d like to be a graphic designer or create social media content.

Do you have brands or people you’d love to design for?
No one comes to mind necessarily, but I’m definitely staying in Singapore so I want to contribute to the local arts scene in any capacity.

Share with us one thing you like and dislike about the arts community in Singapore.
It’s so tiny (laughs). It’s a small community so everyone’s willing to give a hand whenever possible, and it’s easy to network since everyone somehow has a mutual friend that knows someone. But it’s small, so it can also get quite competitive.

How would you describe your sense of style?
I think I’m quite easy-going actually (laughs). I also tend to borrow quite a few items from my sister—some of the pieces I’m wearing today are from her wardrobe—and I like thrifting or buying second-hand.
